Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Commonly known as resuscitation - rescue operations performed on a victim who is unconscious and not breathing properly.
Evaluate safety
Check consciousness
Call for help
Tilt the victim's head
Examine the breath for 10 sec.
If the victim is not breathing, call 112
Perform 30 compressions
2 breaths
Repeat 30 : 2
Symptoms of cardiac arrest:
• lack of normal breathing (agonal or
complete absence of breathing)
• grey skin
• unresponsiveness to external stimuli
Key technical features of the compressions:
• hard, level ground
• uncovered chest
• pressure on the lower part of the sternum (in the “middle” of the chest)
• frequency of compressions: 100-120 / minute
• depth 5 - 6cm
• avoiding leaning on the chest between compressions
Key technical features of the breathers:
• the victim's head tilted back
• clogged nose of the victim
• 1 inhalation for about 1 second until the chest is visibly elevated
• pause between compressions maximum 5 seconds
In a situation where you are rescuing a stranger and do not have a mask for artificial respiration, then perform only chest compressions without interruption.
