Wound
Damage to the skin coating.
Wash with water or saline
Apply a protective dressing
Types/causes:
Abrasions, cut wound, stab wound, puncture wound, lacerated wound, bite wound, gunshot wound, wound with foreign body, burn/frostbite
Hemorrhage
Massive, uncontrolled blood flow from a damaged artery or vein.
Evaluate safety
Check consciousness
If you can, wear gloves
Apply direct pressure to the wound
Make a bandage
Call 112
Remember:
- To stop hemorrhage must not be used: cotton wool, lignin, paper.
- If direct pressure and a bandage are insufficient, consider applying a tourniquet.
- Do not loosen the tourniquet once applied.
