Evaluate safety

Expose the burned area

Have the victim take off his jewelry

Pour cool water for 15 min

If a large part of the body is burned, swelling or blisters appear,call 112

Put on hydrogel / wet cover dressing

Causes:
• high temperature
• chemicals
• radiation
• Electricity (including lightning strike)

Symptoms of the different degrees of burns:
I: erythema, burning / itching, without blisters
II: red skin, blisters / swelling, severe soreness
III: white / brown skin, hard, no sensation

Remember:
Do not lubricate the burns with any cream, ointment, or grease.
• Don't pierce blisters
• If the clothing is blended into the body, do not tear it, cut the material around the wound.
• When cooling, water should be poured above the wound so that it flows over it.
• Remove chemicals mechanically and rinse.
• Be careful when cooling large area burns to avoid hypothermia.

Burns to a large area of the body can cause shock!
