Serve something sweet to drink, and after improvement to eat
If there is no improvement after 15 min, repeat the administration of sugar
Call 112 if:
- The victim is unconscious or loses consciousness,
- The injured person's condition is not improving, but deteriorating.
Symptoms:
• In the initial phase, agitation
• Feeling of hunger
• Weakness
• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Pale, sweaty skin
• Trembling of the hands
• Behavioral disturbance, such as aggression, symptoms similar to alcohol poisoning
Remember:
- In case you don't know whether your sugar level is low or high, you can give something sweet to eat or drink in either case. It is best to give a sweet drink.
- If the symptoms subside, encourage a light snack.
- Avoid giving chocolate and candy bars.
